Serisha Neerachand is a qualified podiatrist since graduating from the University of Johannesburg in 2007. Having practiced in Johannesburg for the past ten years, she is now expanding her practice to KwaZulu Natal.
The reason behind her move is the opportunity to serve a larger community in KwaZulu Natal, where there is a lack of podiatry services.
But why do you need to see a podiatrist, some may ask? Well, a podiatrist is an Allied Healthcare professional registered with the health professions council of South Africa. Podiatrists are trained to diagnose, prevent and rehabiliate by medical and surgical means conditions of the foot and lower limbs.
Serisha specialises in treating patients with diabetes, children, biomechanics as well as patients who require specific footwear and socks.
Using her state of the art computerised Gait Analysis System, Serisha identifies and corrects gait problems thus ensuring proper offloading in diabetic patients and relief from painful heels and spurs.
